About Me

A CAVE IN THE WOODS

Hi, I’m Lisa.

I build systems for people who carry complexity without enough structure, authority, or rest.

Rule the Chaos isn’t a blog name. It’s a practice I’ve developed over decades of navigating demanding careers, leadership roles, and seasons of life where the expectations never stopped, but the margin disappeared. I’ve learned that chaos isn’t something you eliminate. It’s something you learn to work with deliberately.

My background spans science, healthcare, global technology events, and leadership operations. I’ve led high-stakes work with moving parts, tight timelines, and real consequences. I’ve also rebuilt myself more than once, physically and professionally, after burnout made it clear that grit without systems eventually breaks.

Rule the Chaos exists for people who are responsible for outcomes but don’t always feel supported by structure. Leaders. Operators. Caregivers. Builders. People who look at a full inbox, a demanding job, a complicated life and think, I need a better way to carry this.

Here, I write about decision-making under load, practical systems that reduce overwhelm, rebuilding identity after burnout, and leading with clarity when things are messy. You’ll find essays, frameworks, and tools grounded in real life, not theory. This is a place for calm thinking, honest work, and sustainable momentum.

If you’re not trying to have it all together, but you are trying to move forward with intention, you’re in the right place.

“When you start taking care of yourself, you start feeling better, and you start to attract better. It all starts with you.”
