About Me

A CAVE IN THE WOODS

Hi, I’m Lisa—creative strategist, recovering perfectionist, mother, mover, maker, and chaos whisperer.

Rule the Chaos is more than a blog name—it’s my life’s practice. I’ve spent the last few decades weaving through careers in wildlife science, healthcare, cybersecurity events, and leadership management—learning not to avoid the storm, but to navigate it with purpose.

I’m the kind of person who used to run 50-mile races for fun (yes, really), who built a career wrangling massive global tech conferences, and who now balances motherhood, a full-time job, and a renewed commitment to rebuilding strength—physically, emotionally, and creatively.

This space is my exhale. A place to share insights from the edge of burnout and resilience, reflections from work and life, and moments of beauty found in the mess. It’s for people like me—like us—who don’t want to “have it all together,” but want to live honestly, with grit, humor, and heart.

Here, I’ll talk about everything from productivity rituals to personal reinvention, from emotional labor to entrepreneurship, and from leadership to healing. I’ll write about CrossFit and spreadsheets, motherhood and ambition, awkward emails and breakthrough moments.

If you’ve ever looked at your overflowing inbox, messy house, unspoken dreams, and still thought: I can work with this, then welcome. You’re exactly where you belong.
